We believe that a good environment is created not by rules, but by the way people treat one another.

That is why we strive to build a space founded on respect, trust and mutual support.

Respect

Respect is the foundation of life at Studio Plet.

It applies equally to:

• people;
• works;
• equipment;
• the space;
• the time and work of others.

We expect every member and visitor to act with a professional attitude and respect for others.

Knowledge is shared

At Studio Plet, we believe that one artist's growth does not take away from another's.

We encourage the exchange of techniques, ideas and personal discoveries.

Curiosity and the desire to learn are values at the heart of the space.

No one is obliged to reveal their personal creative processes, but sharing experience and mutual help are always welcome.

Individuality is a value

Every artist has their own sensibility, interests and way of working.

Studio Plet does not aim to put artists into boxes or impose a particular aesthetic.

We respect different approaches and believe that it is diversity that keeps a community alive.

Curiosity matters more than perfection

Mistakes are a natural part of the printmaking process.

Unsuccessful prints, experiments and unexpected results are seen not as failure, but as an opportunity for growth and for discovering new directions.

At Studio Plet, you don't need to know everything.

What matters more is never to stop searching.

The atmosphere in the space

Conversation, music and the exchange of ideas are a natural part of life in the studio.

We aim for a pleasant and calm working environment in which people can both work with focus and feel part of a community.

Music is chosen by mutual agreement among those present.

When such agreement cannot be reached, the use of headphones is encouraged.

Lengthy phone calls and video calls are held outside the work area, out of respect for others.

Behaviour we encourage

We strive to build an environment that encourages:

• curiosity;
• mutual support;
• a friendly attitude;
• respect for different points of view;
• interest in the work of others;
• a professional attitude;
• the exchange of knowledge and experience.

Behaviour we do not tolerate

Studio Plet does not tolerate:

• aggressive behaviour;
• arrogance;
• mockery of beginners;
• the deliberate withholding of knowledge in order to create hierarchies;
• disrespect for others' works;
• discrimination and offensive behaviour;
• the deliberate damaging of equipment;
• behaviour that endangers safety or the good atmosphere in the space.

Conflicts

Conflicts are a natural part of any community.

When a misunderstanding arises between members of Studio Plet, we encourage it to be resolved through personal conversation and mutual respect.

If the problem cannot be resolved in this way, a representative of Studio Plet may join the conversation.

In the event of persistent conflicts, a lack of communication or behaviour that breaches the community's values, Studio Plet reserves the right to temporarily or permanently restrict access to the space for one or both parties.

Being part of Studio Plet

Being part of Studio Plet means not only using the space, but also contributing to it.

Whether you are here for the first time or have been part of the community for years, we are all equally responsible for the atmosphere we create together.

We believe that a studio's most valuable resource is not its machines, but the people who fill it with meaning.

Because graphics develop best when we develop together.

The path to independent work

Trust is at the foundation

At Studio Plet, independent work is not merely a service, but a matter of trust.

We believe that a shared space works best when all its members know the environment, the equipment and the principles on which it is built.

That is why everyone who wishes to work independently at Studio Plet goes through a process of getting to know the space.

Introduction to Studio Plet

The 'Introduction to Studio Plet' is the first step towards independent work.

It is organised once enough interested people have gathered, with a maximum of five participants.

The training lasts between one and one and a half hours.

After completing it, participants are recorded in the Studio Plet system and gain the ability to book independent work sessions.

No certificates are issued, since the aim of the training is not formal certification, but the creation of a common basis for safe and responsible work.

What the introduction covers

During the training, participants become familiar with:

• the organisation of the space;
• the working process;
• the correct use of the equipment;
• safe work with the materials;
• the principles of cleaning and maintenance;
• the economical use of consumables;
• the philosophy and values of Studio Plet.

Required experience

Independent work at Studio Plet is intended for people who already have basic knowledge and practical experience in printmaking techniques.

The aim of the space is not to replace basic training, but to provide an environment in which artists can develop their practice independently.

Workshops for beginners

Studio Plet also welcomes people who are just discovering graphic art.

For them, workshops and introductory events are organised, through which participants can gradually acquire the necessary knowledge and confidence.

After successfully completing these trainings and getting to know the space, they too may gain the opportunity for independent work.

Refreshing after a long absence

After an absence from the space of more than one year, Studio Plet may require a repeat of a short introduction or refresher.

This is intended to ensure that all members are familiar with the current practices, equipment and rules of the space.

From visitor to community member

Working independently at Studio Plet means more than booking a workspace.

It means being part of a community founded on trust, respect and shared responsibility.

Over time, many of the people who cross the studio's threshold as visitors become regular members, friends and kindred spirits.

Herein lies one of the greatest values of Studio Plet.

Because every community starts with the first step.

Bookings and access

Organisation of work

Studio Plet operates through the advance booking of work sessions.

This system allows for calm and productive work, while ensuring that the space and equipment are available to all members of the community.

All bookings are made solely through the official Studio Plet website.

Work sessions

Studio Plet offers different options for independent work according to each artist's needs.

Advance bookings

All work sessions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

This allows for better organisation of the space and ensures the presence of a Studio Plet representative.

Cancelling a booking

If you are unable to attend, a booking should be cancelled no later than eight hours before the start of the work session.

Timely notice is a sign of respect for the other members of the community and allows the work time to be freed up for someone else.

Lateness

In the event of lateness of more than 30 minutes without prior notice, the booking is considered cancelled.

Where possible, the freed-up time slot may be offered to another member of the community.

No-shows

In the event of repeated no-shows without prior notice, Studio Plet reserves the right to temporarily restrict the ability to make future bookings.

This measure is intended to protect the time and opportunities of the other members of the space.

Priority in booking

When two people want the same time slot, the first confirmed booking takes priority.

Studio Plet makes no distinction between individual members of the community regarding access to the workspace.

Transferring bookings

Work sessions are personal and cannot be transferred to other people.

Each participant must have individually completed the Introduction to Studio Plet and gained the right to work independently.

Presence of a Studio Plet representative

During all work sessions in the space, a Studio Plet representative is present.

Their role is to support the organisation, safety and normal functioning of the space.

In the absence of a representative, independent work and organised activities cannot take place.

In such cases, the work sessions are cancelled and participants are notified in a timely manner.

Capacity of the space

To ensure calm and productive work, a maximum of two people may work at the same time during independent sessions at Studio Plet.

For organised courses, workshops and events, the space can accommodate up to five participants.

This limit allows the studio to preserve its character as a place for meaningful work, the exchange of knowledge and a personal approach.

Access is trust

At Studio Plet, access to the space is not regarded as an ordinary service.

It is founded on trust, mutual respect and shared responsibility.

Everyone who works in the studio contributes to the atmosphere and life of the community.

That is precisely why we believe that a good working environment is built not through strict restrictions, but through respect for the time, work and presence of others.

Because a shared space works well when people care not only about their own work, but also about the time and opportunities of others.

The space

A shared space

Studio Plet is a place for work, meetings and the exchange of knowledge.

It is designed to encourage calm and meaningful work, without losing the sense of community and friendly atmosphere.

The space is shared, and all its members bear responsibility for maintaining it.

Workspaces

At Studio Plet, there are no permanent or reserved work tables.

All workspaces are shared and used according to the needs of those present.

During independent work, the space is arranged to provide comfort and enough room for everyone to work.

Care for the workspace

Every member of Studio Plet is responsible for leaving their workspace ready for the next person.

This includes:

• cleaning the work surface;
• putting away the tools used;
• disposing of waste in the designated places;
• leaving the space in the condition in which one would wish to find it oneself.

In the event of persistent failure to observe these principles, Studio Plet may hold a conversation with the participant and, if necessary, take additional measures.

The rest area

The studio has a designated area for rest and social interaction.

Food and drinks are consumed only in this part of the space.

A small fridge is available to members and may be used for the temporary storage of food and drinks.

We strive to keep the rest area clean and pleasant for everyone.

Guests

Members of Studio Plet may bring guests only with prior agreement.

Guests are welcome, but their role is that of observers.

They may not take part in the working process, use the equipment or assist members' work.

All guests are expected to be familiar with the basic principles and rules of the space and to treat the people and works within it with respect.

Guests may take photos, provided they respect the personal space and works of others, and only with the explicit consent of the artist.

Pets

Studio Plet is a space where pets are welcome.

Owners bear full responsibility for their behaviour and safety.

Animals must not create a hazard, obstruct the working process or disturb the peace of others.

We encourage the presence only of calm and well-socialised animals.

Smoking

Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is not permitted in the Studio Plet space.

This rule is in place for the sake of safety, comfort and the preservation of the working environment.

The atmosphere we create

Studio Plet does not aim to be an impersonal workspace.

We believe that a friendly atmosphere, shared conversation and mutual respect are just as important as the creative process itself.

Everyone who crosses the studio's threshold contributes to its character.

That is precisely why the atmosphere at Studio Plet is a shared responsibility.

Because a space is built not only by the walls and equipment, but by the people who fill it with life.

Materials and consumables

Shared resources

Studio Plet is built on the idea of a shared space and the responsible use of resources.

Some of the materials and consumables are provided by the studio and are included in the work of its members.

Our aim is to provide a comfortable and accessible environment in which participants can focus on the creative process.

Materials provided by Studio Plet

Available to those working in the space are:

• a printing press;
• rollers;
• inks;
• tools;
• trays and vessels;
• cutters;
• rags;
• newspapers;
• cleaning materials;
• a printer for printing references;
• a space for drying prints.

These resources are shared and should be used carefully and with respect for the other members of the community.

Materials paid for separately

Studio Plet offers:

• paper by the sheet;
• packs of paper;
• plates for drypoint and other printmaking processes, cut to size.

Prices and availability are determined according to the current resources and materials of the space.

Own materials

Members may freely use:

• their own paper;
• their own inks;
• personal tools and materials.

All external materials must comply with the safety rules of Studio Plet.

Responsible use

We believe that shared resources work best when used sensibly.

In the event of unusually high consumption of consumables or specific needs, additional payment may be discussed.

The purpose of this practice is not restriction, but the fair and sustainable upkeep of the space.

Personal materials

All personal tools and materials remain the property of their owners.

After the work session ends, each participant is responsible for putting them away.

Studio Plet is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings.

Because materials are a means of work, and caring for them is part of respect for the community.

Equipment

A shared resource

The equipment at Studio Plet is a shared resource and a fundamental part of the life of the space.

Its good condition is the result of the care and attention of all members of the community.

Working with the equipment

All participants are expected:

• to use the equipment carefully;
• to work in accordance with its intended purpose;
• to clean up after use;
• to report any problem or damage noticed.

Adjustments and repairs

Unauthorised repairs or changes to the equipment are not permitted.

All adjustments beyond everyday work are carried out only with the knowledge and consent of a Studio Plet representative.

Damage

In the event of damage:

• work is stopped;
• a Studio Plet representative is notified;
• no independent repair actions are taken.

In the case of natural wear, the maintenance costs are borne by Studio Plet.

In the case of proven negligence or deliberate damage, responsibility may be borne by the participant concerned.

Commercial projects

Studio Plet welcomes personal as well as professional and commercial projects.

Every artist is free to develop their practice, as long as it aligns with the values and rules of the space.

Changes and development

As Studio Plet develops, the equipment and processes may change.

Some specialised techniques and machines may require additional training before use.

Because equipment is the heart of a graphic studio, and taking care of it is a shared responsibility.

Safety

Safety is a shared responsibility

At Studio Plet, safety is not regarded as a formality, but as a natural part of the working process.

Each participant is responsible both for their own safety and for the safety of others.

Approach to materials

Studio Plet encourages the use of safer and less toxic processes.

Only materials and chemicals provided or approved by the space are used.

Bringing in and using external chemicals is not permitted.

Working with chemicals

Work with chemicals and solvents is carried out only after completing the Introduction to Studio Plet and becoming familiar with the specific processes.

When working with chemicals, the use of protective gloves is mandatory.

Aprons

Work aprons are available to members.

Their use is strongly recommended and is part of good working practice.

Chemical spills

In the event of a chemical spill:

• work is temporarily stopped;
• a Studio Plet representative is notified immediately;
• no independent actions are taken, unless necessary for the safety of those present;
• the space is secured until the problem is resolved.

Incidents

In the event of a minor incident:

• work is stopped;
• a Studio Plet representative is notified;
• first aid is given;
• if necessary, medical help is sought.

In the event of a more serious incident:

• all activities are stopped;
• the safety of the other people present is ensured;
• emergency medical help is sought immediately.

Minimum age

Independent work at Studio Plet is available to persons over 18 years of age.

Studio Plet representative

During all work sessions in the space, a Studio Plet representative is present.

In the absence of a representative, independent work and organised activities do not take place.

Safety is part of the culture

We believe that a calm and safe environment allows people to work freely, experiment and grow.

That is why safety is an integral part of the culture and values of Studio Plet.

Because a good studio is a place where people can create calmly and with trust.

Storage

A temporary space

Studio Plet is a shared space intended primarily for work.

For this reason, options for long-term storage are limited, and all members are responsible for their own materials, tools and works.

Wet prints

A designated space for drying prints is available to those working in the studio.

It is intended for the temporary storage of wet sheets until they dry.

Once dry, prints may remain on the drying rack until collected, and if necessary the space is freed up for new work.

Unfinished projects

Studio Plet does not have permanent storage for unfinished projects.

Each participant is responsible for putting away their matrices, tools, paper and personal materials after the work session ends.

Personal belongings

All personal belongings and materials remain the responsibility of their owners.

Studio Plet is not liable for lost, forgotten or damaged personal belongings.

Forgotten items

Where possible, Studio Plet will endeavour to contact the owner of forgotten items.

Unclaimed items are stored for up to three months.

After this period, Studio Plet is not responsible for their storage and, if necessary, they may be used for the needs of the space or removed from storage.

Unclaimed prints

Unclaimed prints are collected and stored separately for up to three months.

After this period, Studio Plet is not responsible for their storage.

If necessary, the prints may be used for archival and educational purposes or removed from storage.

Respect for others' works

The works of other members of the community should be treated with care and respect.

Moving, relocating, cleaning or interfering with others' work is not permitted without the consent of its author, unless necessary for the normal functioning of the space.

Because works are more than objects – they are part of the time, labor, and personal history of their author.

Authorship and images

Respect for authorship

Studio Plet believes that respect for authorship is a fundamental principle of any creative community.

Every artist retains full rights to their works, whether they are finished or in progress.

Matrices and prints

All matrices, plates, prints and works created at Studio Plet remain the exclusive property of their authors.

Studio Plet claims no rights to them and does not require a share of the works as a form of payment.

Individuality

Studio Plet encourages its members to develop their own visual language and personal artistic practice.

We do not seek to impose a style, subject matter or way of working.

We respect differences and believe that diversity is one of the greatest strengths of a creative community.

Learning and influence

The study of historical and contemporary artists is a natural part of the creative process.

The use of others' works for educational purposes is acceptable when it serves to study techniques and approaches.

Presenting others' works or ideas as one's own is not acceptable.

Photography

Members of Studio Plet may freely document their own work.

Photographing others' works is permitted only with the author's permission, with respect for them, and without presenting the works as one's own creative work.

Social media

Studio Plet has the right to document the working process, events and community life for archival, informational and communication purposes.

Where possible and out of respect for personal preferences, participants may state in advance if they do not wish their works or image to be used in public materials.

Artificial intelligence and digital technologies

Digital technologies may be used as an auxiliary tool in the creative process.

The handmade printmaking process remains at the core of Studio Plet's practice.

The use of artificial intelligence to present works that have not gone through a real artistic and printmaking process is not encouraged.

Respect for labour

We believe that behind every work lie time, patience and personal experience.

That is why we strive to build an environment in which the authorship and individuality of each artist are treated as a value deserving of respect and protection.

Because every work carries a part of the person who created it.

Regular members and residents

A community built over time

Studio Plet believes that trust, friendship and a sense of belonging are built gradually.

While all members of the community are equal in their dignity and respect, over time some people naturally become a more lasting part of the life of the space.

Members of Studio Plet

Anyone who has completed the Introduction to Studio Plet and gained the right to work independently is considered a member of the community.

Being a member of Studio Plet means more than using the equipment.

It means being part of a space founded on respect, trust and shared responsibility.

Regular members

Over time, some people become a permanent part of the life of the studio.

The status of regular member is determined not by the number of visits, but by one's attitude towards the community and contribution to it.

Regular members:

• know the space well;
• show care for the equipment;
• foster the friendly atmosphere;
• share knowledge and experience;
• contribute to the development of Studio Plet.

Regular members are designated at the discretion of those who lead the space.

Residents

Residents are people who hold special significance for the life and development of Studio Plet.

They are not only active participants, but also bearers of the values and spirit of the space.

The number of residents is limited and is determined not by formal criteria, but by mutual trust and shared responsibility.

Responsibilities of residents

Residents strive to:

• maintain the friendly spirit of the community;
• encourage mutual support;
• take an active part in the life of the studio;
• support the development of the space;
• take on additional responsibilities;
• contribute to preserving the culture and values of Studio Plet.

Workshops and trainings

Studio Plet believes that teaching is an extension of shared knowledge.

Running workshops and trainings on behalf of Studio Plet is entrusted to the residents of the space.

This ensures that every activity aligns with the philosophy, values and spirit of the community.

Trust is not bought

At Studio Plet, belonging is not determined by titles or privileges.

It is built through time, respect, mutual support and care for people and the space.

Because a community is not built by roles, but by people.
