What Studio Plet Is
Studio Plet is a shared space for printmaking, experimentation and the exchange of knowledge.
It is at once a professional studio, a cooperative and a community of people united by a love of graphic art.
For different people, Studio Plet can mean different things.
For some, it is a place for calm and meaningful work.
For others, it is a chance to meet like-minded people, learn new techniques or share their own experience.
For others still, it is the first step into the world of printmaking.
Whatever the reason you are here, we are all united by a respect for handcraft and a desire to develop graphic art.
Why Studio Plet Exists
Studio Plet was created out of a desire for a place where people can work, experiment and exchange knowledge in a friendly and professional environment.
Our goal has never been merely to provide equipment or workspaces.
Studio Plet exists to build a community.
A community of people who believe that graphic art develops through sharing, mutual support and respect for the individuality of each artist.
We believe that a love of printmaking and handcraft can unite people of different experience, age and creative interests.

No matter how the space develops in the future, the handmade process and respect for graphic art will remain its foundation.

What Studio Plet Is Not
Studio Plet is not a place where you should be afraid to ask questions, seek help or try something new.
We do not encourage elitism, needless competition or looking down on beginners.
We do not believe that knowledge should be kept secret.
We do not tolerate aggressive behaviour, arrogance or disrespect for others' work.
Studio Plet does not exist to put artists into boxes.
It exists to help them find their own path.
What Printmaking Means to Us
For Studio Plet, printmaking is the process of transferring an image from a matrix onto another surface in an edition.
Under the umbrella of graphic art, we embrace both classical techniques and experimental and hybrid processes.
We encourage combining different techniques and see printmaking as a dynamic and constantly evolving field.
The handmade process remains at the core of our practice.
Digital technologies may be used as a tool, but not as a substitute for artistic labour.
We do not encourage the use of artificial intelligence to present works that have not gone through a real printmaking process.
Our Community
Studio Plet is a place for printmakers young and not-so-young, united by a love of graphic art.
We believe that a free spirit, mutual support and the exchange of knowledge are essential to the development of Bulgarian printmaking.
We hope that no matter how large Studio Plet grows, it will always remain a place where people feel welcome, respected and free to be themselves.

The Future of Studio Plet
A Space in Development
Studio Plet is a living space.
Over time, its activities, equipment and community will grow and change.
This Handbook will also continue to evolve along with the space.
Studio Plet reserves the right to update this document whenever necessary for the good functioning of the community and the safety of the working process.
All changes will be communicated openly and with respect for the members of the space.
