What Studio Plet Is<\/h3>

Studio Plet is a shared space for printmaking, experimentation and the exchange of knowledge.<\/p>

It is at once a professional studio, a cooperative and a community of people united by a love of graphic art.<\/p>

For different people, Studio Plet can mean different things.<\/p>

For some, it is a place for calm and meaningful work.<\/p>

For others, it is a chance to meet like-minded people, learn new techniques or share their own experience.<\/p>

For others still, it is the first step into the world of printmaking.<\/p>

Whatever the reason you are here, we are all united by a respect for handcraft and a desire to develop graphic art.<\/p>

Why Studio Plet Exists<\/h3>

Studio Plet was created out of a desire for a place where people can work, experiment and exchange knowledge in a friendly and professional environment.<\/p>

Our goal has never been merely to provide equipment or workspaces.<\/p>

Studio Plet exists to build a community.<\/p>

A community of people who believe that graphic art develops through sharing, mutual support and respect for the individuality of each artist.<\/p>

We believe that a love of printmaking and handcraft can unite people of different experience, age and creative interests.<\/p>

The love of printmaking is the reason Studio Plet exists.<\/p>

No matter how the space develops in the future, the handmade process and respect for graphic art will remain its foundation.<\/p>

Unsuccessful prints are seen not as failure, but as a natural part of the creative process and an opportunity to learn.<\/p>

We believe that a good working environment is built through mutual respect, trust and care for people and the space.<\/p>

What Studio Plet Is Not<\/h3>

Studio Plet is not a place where you should be afraid to ask questions, seek help or try something new.<\/p>

We do not encourage elitism, needless competition or looking down on beginners.<\/p>

We do not believe that knowledge should be kept secret.<\/p>

We do not tolerate aggressive behaviour, arrogance or disrespect for others' work.<\/p>

Studio Plet does not exist to put artists into boxes.<\/p>

It exists to help them find their own path.<\/p>

What Printmaking Means to Us<\/h3>

For Studio Plet, printmaking is the process of transferring an image from a matrix onto another surface in an edition.<\/p>

Under the umbrella of graphic art, we embrace both classical techniques and experimental and hybrid processes.<\/p>

We encourage combining different techniques and see printmaking as a dynamic and constantly evolving field.<\/p>

The handmade process remains at the core of our practice.<\/p>

Digital technologies may be used as a tool, but not as a substitute for artistic labour.<\/p>

We do not encourage the use of artificial intelligence to present works that have not gone through a real printmaking process.<\/p>

Our Community<\/h3>

Studio Plet is a place for printmakers young and not-so-young, united by a love of graphic art.<\/p>

We believe that a free spirit, mutual support and the exchange of knowledge are essential to the development of Bulgarian printmaking.<\/p>

We hope that no matter how large Studio Plet grows, it will always remain a place where people feel welcome, respected and free to be themselves.<\/p>

The Future of Studio Plet<\/h2>

A Space in Development<\/h3>

Studio Plet is a living space.<\/p>

Over time, its activities, equipment and community will grow and change.<\/p>

This Handbook will also continue to evolve along with the space.<\/p>

Studio Plet reserves the right to update this document whenever necessary for the good functioning of the community and the safety of the working process.<\/p>

All changes will be communicated openly and with respect for the members of the space.<\/p>
