Studio Plet is more than a shared workspace.<\/p>

It is a community of people with different experience, interests and creative paths, united by a love of graphic art.<\/p>

We believe that a good environment is created not by rules, but by the way people treat one another.<\/p>

That is why we strive to build a space founded on respect, trust and mutual support.<\/p>

Respect<\/h3>

Respect is the foundation of life at Studio Plet.<\/p>

It applies equally to:<\/p>

  • people;<\/li>
  • works;<\/li>
  • equipment;<\/li>
  • the space;<\/li>
  • the time and work of others.<\/li><\/ul>

    We expect every member and visitor to act with a professional attitude and respect for others.<\/p>

    Knowledge is shared<\/h3>

    At Studio Plet, we believe that one artist's growth does not take away from another's.<\/p>

    We encourage the exchange of techniques, ideas and personal discoveries.<\/p>

    Curiosity and the desire to learn are values at the heart of the space.<\/p>

    No one is obliged to reveal their personal creative processes, but sharing experience and mutual help are always welcome.<\/p>

    Individuality is a value<\/h3>

    Every artist has their own sensibility, interests and way of working.<\/p>

    Studio Plet does not aim to put artists into boxes or impose a particular aesthetic.<\/p>

    We respect different approaches and believe that it is diversity that keeps a community alive.<\/p>

    Curiosity matters more than perfection<\/h3>

    Mistakes are a natural part of the printmaking process.<\/p>

    Unsuccessful prints, experiments and unexpected results are seen not as failure, but as an opportunity for growth and for discovering new directions.<\/p>

    At Studio Plet, you don't need to know everything.<\/p>

    What matters more is never to stop searching.<\/p>

    The atmosphere in the space<\/h3>

    Conversation, music and the exchange of ideas are a natural part of life in the studio.<\/p>

    We aim for a pleasant and calm working environment in which people can both work with focus and feel part of a community.<\/p>

    Music is chosen by mutual agreement among those present.<\/p>

    When such agreement cannot be reached, the use of headphones is encouraged.<\/p>

    Lengthy phone calls and video calls are held outside the work area, out of respect for others.<\/p>

    Behaviour we encourage<\/h3>

      Behaviour we do not tolerate<\/h3>

      Studio Plet does not tolerate:<\/p>

      • aggressive behaviour;<\/li>
      • arrogance;<\/li>
      • mockery of beginners;<\/li>
      • the deliberate withholding of knowledge in order to create hierarchies;<\/li>
      • disrespect for others' works;<\/li>
      • discrimination and offensive behaviour;<\/li>
      • the deliberate damaging of equipment;<\/li>
      • behaviour that endangers safety or the good atmosphere in the space.<\/li><\/ul>

        Conflicts<\/h3>

        Conflicts are a natural part of any community.<\/p>

        When a misunderstanding arises between members of Studio Plet, we encourage it to be resolved through personal conversation and mutual respect.<\/p>

        If the problem cannot be resolved in this way, a representative of Studio Plet may join the conversation.<\/p>

        In the event of persistent conflicts, a lack of communication or behaviour that breaches the community's values, Studio Plet reserves the right to temporarily or permanently restrict access to the space for one or both parties.<\/p>

        Being part of Studio Plet<\/h3>

        Being part of Studio Plet means not only using the space, but also contributing to it.<\/p>

        Whether you are here for the first time or have been part of the community for years, we are all equally responsible for the atmosphere we create together.<\/p>

        We believe that a studio's most valuable resource is not its machines, but the people who fill it with meaning.<\/p>

        Because graphics develop best when we develop together.<\/em><\/blockquote>

        The path to independent work<\/h2>

        Trust is at the foundation<\/h3>

        At Studio Plet, independent work is not merely a service, but a matter of trust.<\/p>

        We believe that a shared space works best when all its members know the environment, the equipment and the principles on which it is built.<\/p>

        That is why everyone who wishes to work independently at Studio Plet goes through a process of getting to know the space.<\/p>

        Introduction to Studio Plet<\/h3>

        The 'Introduction to Studio Plet' is the first step towards independent work.<\/p>

        It is organised once enough interested people have gathered, with a maximum of five participants.<\/p>

        The training lasts between one and one and a half hours.<\/p>

        After completing it, participants are recorded in the Studio Plet system and gain the ability to book independent work sessions.<\/p>

        No certificates are issued, since the aim of the training is not formal certification, but the creation of a common basis for safe and responsible work.<\/p>

        What the introduction covers<\/h3>

        During the training, participants become familiar with:<\/p>

        • the organisation of the space;<\/li>
        • the working process;<\/li>
        • the correct use of the equipment;<\/li>
        • safe work with the materials;<\/li>
        • the principles of cleaning and maintenance;<\/li>
        • the economical use of consumables;<\/li>
        • the philosophy and values of Studio Plet.<\/li><\/ul>

          Required experience<\/h3>

          Independent work at Studio Plet is intended for people who already have basic knowledge and practical experience in printmaking techniques.<\/p>

          The aim of the space is not to replace basic training, but to provide an environment in which artists can develop their practice independently.<\/p>

          Workshops for beginners<\/h3>

          Studio Plet also welcomes people who are just discovering graphic art.<\/p>

          For them, workshops and introductory events are organised, through which participants can gradually acquire the necessary knowledge and confidence.<\/p>

          After successfully completing these trainings and getting to know the space, they too may gain the opportunity for independent work.<\/p>

          Refreshing after a long absence<\/h3>

          After an absence from the space of more than one year, Studio Plet may require a repeat of a short introduction or refresher.<\/p>

          This is intended to ensure that all members are familiar with the current practices, equipment and rules of the space.<\/p>

          From visitor to community member<\/h3>

          Working independently at Studio Plet means more than booking a workspace.<\/p>

          It means being part of a community founded on trust, respect and shared responsibility.<\/p>

          Over time, many of the people who cross the studio's threshold as visitors become regular members, friends and kindred spirits.<\/p>

          Herein lies one of the greatest values of Studio Plet.<\/p>

          Because every community starts with the first step.<\/em><\/blockquote>

          Bookings and access<\/h2>

          Organisation of work<\/h3>

          Studio Plet operates through the advance booking of work sessions.<\/p>

          This system allows for calm and productive work, while ensuring that the space and equipment are available to all members of the community.<\/p>

          All bookings are made solely through the official Studio Plet website.<\/p>

          Work sessions<\/h3>

          Studio Plet offers different options for independent work according to each artist's needs.<\/p>

          Advance bookings<\/h3>

          All work sessions must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.<\/p>

          This allows for better organisation of the space and ensures the presence of a Studio Plet representative.<\/p>

          Cancelling a booking<\/h3>

          If you are unable to attend, a booking should be cancelled no later than eight hours before the start of the work session.<\/p>

          Timely notice is a sign of respect for the other members of the community and allows the work time to be freed up for someone else.<\/p>

          Lateness<\/h3>

          In the event of lateness of more than 30 minutes without prior notice, the booking is considered cancelled.<\/p>

          Where possible, the freed-up time slot may be offered to another member of the community.<\/p>

          No-shows<\/h3>

          In the event of repeated no-shows without prior notice, Studio Plet reserves the right to temporarily restrict the ability to make future bookings.<\/p>

          This measure is intended to protect the time and opportunities of the other members of the space.<\/p>

          Priority in booking<\/h3>

          When two people want the same time slot, the first confirmed booking takes priority.<\/p>

          Studio Plet makes no distinction between individual members of the community regarding access to the workspace.<\/p>

          Transferring bookings<\/h3>

          Work sessions are personal and cannot be transferred to other people.<\/p>

          Each participant must have individually completed the Introduction to Studio Plet and gained the right to work independently.<\/p>

          Presence of a Studio Plet representative<\/h3>

          During all work sessions in the space, a Studio Plet representative is present.<\/p>

          Their role is to support the organisation, safety and normal functioning of the space.<\/p>

          In the absence of a representative, independent work and organised activities cannot take place.<\/p>

          In such cases, the work sessions are cancelled and participants are notified in a timely manner.<\/p>

          Capacity of the space<\/h3>

          To ensure calm and productive work, a maximum of two people may work at the same time during independent sessions at Studio Plet.<\/p>

          For organised courses, workshops and events, the space can accommodate up to five participants.<\/p>

          This limit allows the studio to preserve its character as a place for meaningful work, the exchange of knowledge and a personal approach.<\/p>

          Access is trust<\/h3>

          At Studio Plet, access to the space is not regarded as an ordinary service.<\/p>

          It is founded on trust, mutual respect and shared responsibility.<\/p>

          Everyone who works in the studio contributes to the atmosphere and life of the community.<\/p>

          That is precisely why we believe that a good working environment is built not through strict restrictions, but through respect for the time, work and presence of others.<\/p>

          Because a shared space works well when people care not only about their own work, but also about the time and opportunities of others.<\/em><\/blockquote>

          The space<\/h2>

          A shared space<\/h3>

          Studio Plet is a place for work, meetings and the exchange of knowledge.<\/p>

          It is designed to encourage calm and meaningful work, without losing the sense of community and friendly atmosphere.<\/p>

          The space is shared, and all its members bear responsibility for maintaining it.<\/p>

          Workspaces<\/h3>

          At Studio Plet, there are no permanent or reserved work tables.<\/p>

          All workspaces are shared and used according to the needs of those present.<\/p>

          During independent work, the space is arranged to provide comfort and enough room for everyone to work.<\/p>

          Care for the workspace<\/h3>

          Every member of Studio Plet is responsible for leaving their workspace ready for the next person.<\/p>

          This includes:<\/p>

          • cleaning the work surface;<\/li>
          • putting away the tools used;<\/li>
          • disposing of waste in the designated places;<\/li>
          • leaving the space in the condition in which one would wish to find it oneself.<\/li><\/ul>

            In the event of persistent failure to observe these principles, Studio Plet may hold a conversation with the participant and, if necessary, take additional measures.<\/p>

            The rest area<\/h3>

            The studio has a designated area for rest and social interaction.<\/p>

            Food and drinks are consumed only in this part of the space.<\/p>

            A small fridge is available to members and may be used for the temporary storage of food and drinks.<\/p>

            We strive to keep the rest area clean and pleasant for everyone.<\/p>

            Guests<\/h3>

            Members of Studio Plet may bring guests only with prior agreement.<\/p>

            Guests are welcome, but their role is that of observers.<\/p>

            They may not take part in the working process, use the equipment or assist members' work.<\/p>

            All guests are expected to be familiar with the basic principles and rules of the space and to treat the people and works within it with respect.<\/p>

            Guests may take photos, provided they respect the personal space and works of others, and only with the explicit consent of the artist.<\/p>

            Pets<\/h3>

            Studio Plet is a space where pets are welcome.<\/p>

            Owners bear full responsibility for their behaviour and safety.<\/p>

            Animals must not create a hazard, obstruct the working process or disturb the peace of others.<\/p>

            We encourage the presence only of calm and well-socialised animals.<\/p>

            Smoking<\/h3>

            Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is not permitted in the Studio Plet space.<\/p>

            This rule is in place for the sake of safety, comfort and the preservation of the working environment.<\/p>

            The atmosphere we create<\/h3>

            Studio Plet does not aim to be an impersonal workspace.<\/p>

            We believe that a friendly atmosphere, shared conversation and mutual respect are just as important as the creative process itself.<\/p>

            Everyone who crosses the studio's threshold contributes to its character.<\/p>

            That is precisely why the atmosphere at Studio Plet is a shared responsibility.<\/p>

            Because a space is built not only by the walls and equipment, but by the people who fill it with life.<\/em><\/blockquote>

            Materials and consumables<\/h2>

            Shared resources<\/h3>

            Studio Plet is built on the idea of a shared space and the responsible use of resources.<\/p>

            Some of the materials and consumables are provided by the studio and are included in the work of its members.<\/p>

            Our aim is to provide a comfortable and accessible environment in which participants can focus on the creative process.<\/p>

            Materials provided by Studio Plet<\/h3>

            Available to those working in the space are:<\/p>

            • a printing press;<\/li>
            • rollers;<\/li>
            • inks;<\/li>
            • tools;<\/li>
            • trays and vessels;<\/li>
            • cutters;<\/li>
            • rags;<\/li>
            • newspapers;<\/li>
            • cleaning materials;<\/li>
            • a printer for printing references;<\/li>
            • a space for drying prints.<\/li><\/ul>

              These resources are shared and should be used carefully and with respect for the other members of the community.<\/p>

              Materials paid for separately<\/h3>

              Studio Plet offers:<\/p>

              • paper by the sheet;<\/li>
              • packs of paper;<\/li>
              • plates for drypoint and other printmaking processes, cut to size.<\/li><\/ul>

                Prices and availability are determined according to the current resources and materials of the space.<\/p>

                Own materials<\/h3>

                Members may freely use:<\/p>

                • their own paper;<\/li>
                • their own inks;<\/li>
                • personal tools and materials.<\/li><\/ul>

                  All external materials must comply with the safety rules of Studio Plet.<\/p>

                  Responsible use<\/h3>

                  We believe that shared resources work best when used sensibly.<\/p>

                  In the event of unusually high consumption of consumables or specific needs, additional payment may be discussed.<\/p>

                  The purpose of this practice is not restriction, but the fair and sustainable upkeep of the space.<\/p>

                  Personal materials<\/h3>

                  All personal tools and materials remain the property of their owners.<\/p>

                  After the work session ends, each participant is responsible for putting them away.<\/p>

                  Studio Plet is not liable for lost or damaged personal belongings.<\/p>

                  Because materials are a means of work, and caring for them is part of respect for the community.<\/em><\/blockquote>

                  Equipment<\/h2>

                  A shared resource<\/h3>

                  The equipment at Studio Plet is a shared resource and a fundamental part of the life of the space.<\/p>

                  Its good condition is the result of the care and attention of all members of the community.<\/p>

                  Working with the equipment<\/h3>

                  All participants are expected:<\/p>

                  • to use the equipment carefully;<\/li>
                  • to work in accordance with its intended purpose;<\/li>
                  • to clean up after use;<\/li>
                  • to report any problem or damage noticed.<\/li><\/ul>

                    Adjustments and repairs<\/h3>

                    Unauthorised repairs or changes to the equipment are not permitted.<\/p>

                    All adjustments beyond everyday work are carried out only with the knowledge and consent of a Studio Plet representative.<\/p>

                    Damage<\/h3>

                    In the event of damage:<\/p>

                    • work is stopped;<\/li>
                    • a Studio Plet representative is notified;<\/li>
                    • no independent repair actions are taken.<\/li><\/ul>

                      In the case of natural wear, the maintenance costs are borne by Studio Plet.<\/p>

                      In the case of proven negligence or deliberate damage, responsibility may be borne by the participant concerned.<\/p>

                      Commercial projects<\/h3>

                      Studio Plet welcomes personal as well as professional and commercial projects.<\/p>

                      Every artist is free to develop their practice, as long as it aligns with the values and rules of the space.<\/p>

                      Changes and development<\/h3>

                      As Studio Plet develops, the equipment and processes may change.<\/p>

                      Some specialised techniques and machines may require additional training before use.<\/p>

                      Because equipment is the heart of a graphic studio, and taking care of it is a shared responsibility.<\/em><\/blockquote>

                      Safety<\/h2>

                      Safety is a shared responsibility<\/h3>

                      At Studio Plet, safety is not regarded as a formality, but as a natural part of the working process.<\/p>

                      Each participant is responsible both for their own safety and for the safety of others.<\/p>

                      Approach to materials<\/h3>

                      Studio Plet encourages the use of safer and less toxic processes.<\/p>

                      Only materials and chemicals provided or approved by the space are used.<\/p>

                      Bringing in and using external chemicals is not permitted.<\/p>

                      Working with chemicals<\/h3>

                      Work with chemicals and solvents is carried out only after completing the Introduction to Studio Plet and becoming familiar with the specific processes.<\/p>

                      When working with chemicals, the use of protective gloves is mandatory.<\/p>

                      Aprons<\/h3>

                      Work aprons are available to members.<\/p>

                      Their use is strongly recommended and is part of good working practice.<\/p>

                      Chemical spills<\/h3>

                      In the event of a chemical spill:<\/p>

                      • work is temporarily stopped;<\/li>
                      • a Studio Plet representative is notified immediately;<\/li>
                      • no independent actions are taken, unless necessary for the safety of those present;<\/li>
                      • the space is secured until the problem is resolved.<\/li><\/ul>

                        Incidents<\/h3>

                        In the event of a minor incident:<\/p>

                        • work is stopped;<\/li>
                        • a Studio Plet representative is notified;<\/li>
                        • first aid is given;<\/li>
                        • if necessary, medical help is sought.<\/li><\/ul>

                          In the event of a more serious incident:<\/p>

                          • all activities are stopped;<\/li>
                          • the safety of the other people present is ensured;<\/li>
                          • emergency medical help is sought immediately.<\/li><\/ul>

                            Minimum age<\/h3>

                            Independent work at Studio Plet is available to persons over 18 years of age.<\/p>

                            Studio Plet representative<\/h3>

                            During all work sessions in the space, a Studio Plet representative is present.<\/p>

                            In the absence of a representative, independent work and organised activities do not take place.<\/p>

                            Safety is part of the culture<\/h3>

                            We believe that a calm and safe environment allows people to work freely, experiment and grow.<\/p>

                            That is why safety is an integral part of the culture and values of Studio Plet.<\/p>

                            Because a good studio is a place where people can create calmly and with trust.<\/em><\/blockquote>

                            Storage<\/h2>

                            A temporary space<\/h3>

                            Studio Plet is a shared space intended primarily for work.<\/p>

                            For this reason, options for long-term storage are limited, and all members are responsible for their own materials, tools and works.<\/p>

                            Wet prints<\/h3>

                            A designated space for drying prints is available to those working in the studio.<\/p>

                            It is intended for the temporary storage of wet sheets until they dry.<\/p>

                            Once dry, prints may remain on the drying rack until collected, and if necessary the space is freed up for new work.<\/p>

                            Unfinished projects<\/h3>

                            Studio Plet does not have permanent storage for unfinished projects.<\/p>

                            Each participant is responsible for putting away their matrices, tools, paper and personal materials after the work session ends.<\/p>

                            Personal belongings<\/h3>

                            All personal belongings and materials remain the responsibility of their owners.<\/p>

                            Studio Plet is not liable for lost, forgotten or damaged personal belongings.<\/p>

                            Forgotten items<\/h3>

                            Where possible, Studio Plet will endeavour to contact the owner of forgotten items.<\/p>

                            Unclaimed items are stored for up to three months.<\/p>

                            After this period, Studio Plet is not responsible for their storage and, if necessary, they may be used for the needs of the space or removed from storage.<\/p>

                            Unclaimed prints<\/h3>

                            Unclaimed prints are collected and stored separately for up to three months.<\/p>

                            After this period, Studio Plet is not responsible for their storage.<\/p>

                            If necessary, the prints may be used for archival and educational purposes or removed from storage.<\/p>

                            Respect for others' works<\/h3>

                            The works of other members of the community should be treated with care and respect.<\/p>

                            Moving, relocating, cleaning or interfering with others' work is not permitted without the consent of its author, unless necessary for the normal functioning of the space.<\/p>

                            Because works are more than objects \u2013 they are part of the time, labor, and personal history of their author.<\/em><\/blockquote>

                            Authorship and images<\/h2>

                            Respect for authorship<\/h3>

                            Studio Plet believes that respect for authorship is a fundamental principle of any creative community.<\/p>

                            Every artist retains full rights to their works, whether they are finished or in progress.<\/p>

                            Matrices and prints<\/h3>

                            All matrices, plates, prints and works created at Studio Plet remain the exclusive property of their authors.<\/p>

                            Studio Plet claims no rights to them and does not require a share of the works as a form of payment.<\/p>

                            Individuality<\/h3>

                            Studio Plet encourages its members to develop their own visual language and personal artistic practice.<\/p>

                            We do not seek to impose a style, subject matter or way of working.<\/p>

                            We respect differences and believe that diversity is one of the greatest strengths of a creative community.<\/p>

                            Learning and influence<\/h3>

                            The study of historical and contemporary artists is a natural part of the creative process.<\/p>

                            The use of others' works for educational purposes is acceptable when it serves to study techniques and approaches.<\/p>

                            Presenting others' works or ideas as one's own is not acceptable.<\/p>

                            Photography<\/h3>

                            Members of Studio Plet may freely document their own work.<\/p>

                            Photographing others' works is permitted only with the author's permission, with respect for them, and without presenting the works as one's own creative work.<\/p>

                            Social media<\/h3>

                            Studio Plet has the right to document the working process, events and community life for archival, informational and communication purposes.<\/p>

                            Where possible and out of respect for personal preferences, participants may state in advance if they do not wish their works or image to be used in public materials.<\/p>

                            Artificial intelligence and digital technologies<\/h3>

                            Digital technologies may be used as an auxiliary tool in the creative process.<\/p>

                            The handmade printmaking process remains at the core of Studio Plet's practice.<\/p>

                            The use of artificial intelligence to present works that have not gone through a real artistic and printmaking process is not encouraged.<\/p>

                            Respect for labour<\/h3>

                            We believe that behind every work lie time, patience and personal experience.<\/p>

                            That is why we strive to build an environment in which the authorship and individuality of each artist are treated as a value deserving of respect and protection.<\/p>

                            Because every work carries a part of the person who created it.<\/em><\/blockquote>

                            Regular members and residents<\/h2>

                            A community built over time<\/h3>

                            Studio Plet believes that trust, friendship and a sense of belonging are built gradually.<\/p>

                            While all members of the community are equal in their dignity and respect, over time some people naturally become a more lasting part of the life of the space.<\/p>

                            Members of Studio Plet<\/h3>

                            Anyone who has completed the Introduction to Studio Plet and gained the right to work independently is considered a member of the community.<\/p>

                            Being a member of Studio Plet means more than using the equipment.<\/p>

                            It means being part of a space founded on respect, trust and shared responsibility.<\/p>

                            Regular members<\/h3>

                            Over time, some people become a permanent part of the life of the studio.<\/p>

                            The status of regular member is determined not by the number of visits, but by one's attitude towards the community and contribution to it.<\/p>

                            Regular members:<\/p>

                            • know the space well;<\/li>
                            • show care for the equipment;<\/li>
                            • foster the friendly atmosphere;<\/li>
                            • share knowledge and experience;<\/li>
                            • contribute to the development of Studio Plet.<\/li><\/ul>

                              Regular members are designated at the discretion of those who lead the space.<\/p>

                              Residents<\/h3>

                              Residents are people who hold special significance for the life and development of Studio Plet.<\/p>

                              They are not only active participants, but also bearers of the values and spirit of the space.<\/p>

                              The number of residents is limited and is determined not by formal criteria, but by mutual trust and shared responsibility.<\/p>

                              Responsibilities of residents<\/h3>

                              Residents strive to:<\/p>

                              • maintain the friendly spirit of the community;<\/li>
                              • encourage mutual support;<\/li>
                              • take an active part in the life of the studio;<\/li>
                              • support the development of the space;<\/li>
                              • take on additional responsibilities;<\/li>
                              • contribute to preserving the culture and values of Studio Plet.<\/li><\/ul>

                                Workshops and trainings<\/h3>
